How We Prepare the Wood
Yankin’s Reclaimed Materials has a modern saw mill with all of the equipment to cut and prepare your material to order. We have saws to cut slabs of redwood from our salvaged logs up to 6’ in diameter and over 40’ in length. We have saws to cut all our dimensional timbers and lumber. We have planers to surface everything from huge old growth timbers down to simple siding or wainscot. We have huge sanders to provide a smooth finish for your specialty needs, large or small. We also have relationships with local craftsmen to process our lumber into custom crown molding or detail pieces. Whatever your custom redwood lumber requirements are, just ask us.

All of the reclaimed redwood in our inventory is cataloged and carefully stacked with stickers to keep it dry and straight. All of our salvaged redwood logs are also cataloged, measured, and photographed for our inventory management. Any material that we have pre-cut in our inventory is carefully covered to protect it from the elements and is allowed to air-dry naturally.
When we receive your signed Order Form, we identify the logs and materials in our lumber yard that will be cut and finished to your specifications. This material is immediately sequestered and removed from our available inventory list and then scheduled for processing. As your lumber order is processed, each pallet or container is carefully cataloged, stickered and protected from the elements to await shipment. Our Customers are welcome and encouraged to inspect their orders at our premises prior to shipment. Upon your special request, we can also provide some photographs by email of your finished lumber awaiting shipment.
